Southern Contemporary Fiction with Redemptive Arcs Complete Manuscript | ~85,000 words | Four-Novel Series Planned
OVERVIEW
Back to Oyster Point is the debut novel from Sandie Eggers Seagroves — a story of identity, betrayal, and grace set in the modern Carolina Lowcountry.
Summer Raines has built the life she was told to want: a rising career in Charleston's professional world, a fiancé with the right pedigree, and a faith that comfortably fills Sunday mornings without asking much of Monday. Then, in a single week, it all collapses. She is falsely accused of embezzling funds from her firm. Her engagement shatters. And the God she assumed was at her side falls conspicuously silent.
Retreating to her family's home on Oyster Point — a fictionalized Wadmalaw Island — Summer expects to hide until the scandal passes. Instead, she finds a community with a long memory, a family legacy she never fully understood, and evidence that her accusation was no accident: someone designed her downfall, and they knew exactly where she was vulnerable.
As Summer fights to clear her name, she is forced to answer a question she has outrun her whole adult life: Is she the young postmodern professional she has performed so well — or the woman of deeper, traditional values she was raised to be? Her answer will determine not only her future, but the future of everyone connected to Oyster Point.
SERIES PLAN
Back to Oyster Point launches a planned four-novel series exploring the people of one Lowcountry community — their faith, failures, and the grace that keeps finding them anyway.

Book 2: The antagonist's own story — a reckoning with pride, ambition, and forgiveness.
Book 3: A local pastor's hidden struggle behind a faithful public life.
